Reminiscing on a Summer at the Beach

Candid Moments by the Shore

August may have slipped away quietly, but the beach shoots from this summer still linger - both in memory and in my camera roll.

This summer, I found myself returning to the beach for multiple photoshoots. From Gloucester, MA to Clinton, CT, and up to Old Orchard Beach, Maine - this summer made one thing clear: the beach was the perfect backdrop.

The beach is the perfect stage for the kind of photography I love most - natural, candid, joy-filled moments. There’s something about the ocean that brings out a different kind of energy in people. The sound of the waves, the golden light reflecting over the water, the salty breeze - all of it melts away tension and allows people to move more freely. When people are able to move more naturally, there is a certain magic that unfolds.

From families chasing toddlers at the shoreline, to couples wrapped in soft, sandy sunsets, to solo portraits with wind-blown hair and bare feet - each shoot told its own little summer story. Candid photography thrives in that environment. The beach doesn’t demand perfection. It invites authenticity. It gave me space to capture people as they are - relaxed, happy, and present.

These sessions reminded me that the best photos aren't always the most polished - they’re the ones that feel like memories.

So while I may be posting this a little late (September already?!), I’m holding onto that August feeling just a bit longer. And I’m grateful for every sandy lens, sun-soaked afternoon, and spontaneous laugh that made its way into frame.

Here’s to more moments like these - imperfect, sunlit, and full of life!

With Love,

LC
