A Visit to Land’s Sake Farm: Finding Beauty in the Blooms

Last week, my friends and I spent a peaceful night at Land’s Sake Farm in Weston, Massachusetts. From June through October, the farm offers an abundance of organically grown flowers. We attended one of their flower workshops while also scouting blooms for our friend’s upcoming wedding.

Wandering through the fields with clippers in hand, selecting stems, and arranging them into vases while sitting on the grass was very grounding. There’s a quiet kind of magic that comes from slowing down and connecting with nature in this way.

Whether you’re planning a styled photoshoot, prepping for a wedding, or simply seeking a little beauty in your everyday routine, local flower farms offer a uniquely seasonal experience. They’re a blend of both artistry and nature. Many even offer U-Pick options, allowing you to roam the rows, hand-select your favorites, and create something personal and beautiful.

As a photographer, flower farms are endlessly inspiring. The diversity of the fields - from soft, delicate wildflowers to bold, golden sunflowers - makes for an incredible variety of subjects and compositions. I’ve found so many creative ways to incorporate farm-fresh flowers into my work:

  • Adding a seasonal touch to portraits and flat lays

  • Styling wildflower-inspired arrangements for bridal or engagement shoots

  • Enhancing interior scenes with just-picked floral accents

  • Capturing candid moments of clients in the fields - perfect for dreamy lifestyle images

Whether you’re behind the camera, planning a special event, or just wanting to bring a little joy into your day, visiting your local flower farm is more than just a lovely outing, it’s an invitation to pause, connect, and create beauty from the simple, natural things.

With Love,

LC
